The Roshven jacket is inspired by my love of distant lands.  I often regarded Roshven a strange name for a hamlet in the highlands.  For me, the name conjures images of India, the heat forcing you to the shady hills to cool down.  Contrastingly Roshven Township is at the foot of the mountains and overlooks the sea, icy streams forever flow down the hills to the water’s edge.  Encouraging inspiration from dreams of visiting countries where the air is filled with spices and colour. 

This coat is inspired by times long gone at Dorlin castle.  Steeped in history “Dorlin” is a small hamlet on the west coast of Scotland, strolling along its shores carries you back to a different time.  Atop a tidal island sits the ancient castle Tioram, dating back to the 13th century it was said to be used until the Jacobite Uprising.  As a girl I would often visit the castle and explore inside its walls imagining its lost stories.
